Do you require your licence for work? If so, and with a decent lawyer, you may not get a ban.
If you don't need it for work then expect a ban.

First ban? If so, expect 3 months. You really must drive like a twat, to get 12 points. You may think you're unlucky, but generally, the better driver you are, the less accidents you have and the less points you accrue.

Drink driving is not acceptable. Never said it was. It was 9 hours after I drunk and I thought I was ok to drive. If I thought I was over the limit I would not of driven.
